Getting user feedback
We go to your typical user, your customer, during the website project. This process benefits a new website, or a fix to existing web pages. Simple feedback sessions keep the focus clearly on the end user and their goals. It makes doing business online easier.
We run two types of user sessions:
- Target customer group discussions
- User testing for site usability and content effectiveness
Target group discussions usually involve 5 to 7 people. Typically sessions run 40 to 60 minutes. Our approach is flexible. We manage, collaborate, or quietly assist clients with the discussions, as preferred.
The process is invaluable. It reveals how to communicate more effectively with customers online – at the start of the project.
Who benefits from group discussions
Every company will learn something about their customer from this process. We highly recommend target group discussions for websites with sensitive, technical, or complex content. It saves change later in the project, when it is more difficult, time consuming and costly.
We practice a simple, effective form of testing, starting with wireframes on paper, working to screen prototypes. Wireframes contain the basic blueprint of the site along with the content.
The user testing process means you get the text and site structure right before going too far. Modifications are easy when timed well. We schedule user testing feedback at various stages of the process.
At Blue Glider we do not use expensive recording equipment and testing labs. Most testing is done with one person at a time in a quiet, relaxed environment. We ensure the tester feels comfortable enough to give candid, straightforward feedback.
The end result of testing is a user centric, customer driven website – essential to maximising online conversions.
